Family Business Consultancy
In our country, as in the rest of the world, a very significant ninety percent of private companies are family-owned, and the majority of these companies are small and medium-sized enterprises. Family businesses produce a very large portion of the total goods and services in our country. In this way, it would be very appropriate to describe family businesses as the “locomotive” of our economy.
It is very difficult for family businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to retain full-time professionals from different areas of expertise. For this reason, it is very useful for them to outsource consultancy services, but some points should be taken into consideration.
Family businesses require a holistic perspective
Family businesses are companies where business and family are intertwined and where family problems are likely to be reflected on the business and business problems on the family. For this reason, it is important to emphasize that the experts who will provide consultancy services should have knowledge and experience in business-related issues on the one hand and in the field of family psychology on the other, and should provide services without forgetting the fact that each family and business is a unique and sensitive structure, that relationships are based on emotions rather than professionalism, and that they are therefore fragile.
The aim of family business consultancy services should be to approach the family and the business from a holistic perspective and to ensure the healthy growth, development, success and continuity of both the family and the business.
